I like to say that I was born a Unitarian Universalist; born a UU because the year I was born was the year the Universalist Church of America and the American Unitarian Association merged to become today’s Unitarian Universalist Association, and because my parents, an interracial couple, chose to bring up my brother and me up in the First Unitarian Society of Denver, and because Unitarian Universalism is so very much my chosen faith speaking to my heart, my mind, and my ever-growing spirit
