Quinceañeras

In Mexican culture when a young woman turns 15, a Quinceañera or coming-out ceremony and party is held to celebrate her emerging womanhood. A minister works with a young woman and her family to create a meaningful service that speaks to her unique individuality and raises up how she will use her personal gifts for the benefit of her family, friends and society.

Girls marking their 15th birthday with a Quinceañera celebration will find a dramatic venue for this milestone event at the First Unitarian Church of San José. Surrounded by 25 colorful stained-glass windows and a chancel that lends itself to a wide range of decorations, the circular sanctuary seats up to 350 people. Other features include:

  • Adjoining social hall
  • Steinway grand piano
  • Electronic Galanti organ
  • Catering kitchen
  • Full handicap accessibility
  • Nearby St. James Park, which may be used for pictures

The First Unitarian Church welcomes all people without regard to race, national origin, social status, sex, disability, age or sexual orientation and without requiring adherence to any particular interpretation of religion or to any particular religious belief or creed.

the more there is in life to celebrate
